Terms & Conditions

This document describes the terms on which Rejig Organising would be happy to help you. This is in order to manage expectations and gain most out of the sessions.

Best Advice: Advice is given in good faith and it is always your decision to accept guidance on whether to keep or dispose of any possessions. Rejig Organising cannot accept any responsibility for the consequences of any such decisions made by you the client.

Handling Goods: I will take great care when handling items belonging to you the client. If accidents do occur, I shall not be liable for losses and damages however caused. I rely on you the client to carry insurance at all times which will adequately compensate you for your losses. I am however insured as a business for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity.

Removal of items: Items removed from your premises during the decluttering process will not take place without your authorization and is at your own discretion. The client accepts full responsibility for all items disposed of in the decluttering process. We can help with such disposal i.e. take items to charity shops for you and to a recycling centre (we have a waste carrier’s licence in order to do so legally). We can also arrange to shred paperwork for you (for a fee). Once agreed items have left your home, it is not possible to get them back i.e. as a result of changing your mind.

Limits of work: I will endeavour to help you in achieving the vision of your space in the limits of my capabilities. I am happy to assist in the clearing and light cleaning to achieve the aesthetic results you envisage. I will not be able to conduct heavy lifting of furniture or deep cleans, I am happy to help you with storage solutions and building light flatpack furniture. Where more expertise is required I will leave to those more professionally qualified.

Hours of work: Due to the nature of work it is difficult to assess how long projects will take. Where projects are shorter than envisaged you will be charged for the hours worked (past the minimum 3-hour threshold). Where a project is taking longer this will be discussed in the session and we will agree together a plan for completion.

Access: Access is required to your premises for the sessions to take place. In instances where parking is prohibited you will be liable to cover the costs of parking charges and loss of time.

Breaks and Refreshments: Breaks will be discussed at the beginning of the session depending upon your requirements and length of the session. Where a session covers lunch, I will bring a packed lunch with me and will leave the premises, again this will be discussed in advance.

Travel and accommodation: If travel out of the area is required this will be charged accordingly, please see Payment terms below. If the booking requires consecutive days then it may be more appropriate and economical to see local accommodation.

Cancellation: We both have the right to cancel the sessions due to unforeseeable circumstances. Appointments can be rescheduled if two working days notice is given. In the event of a cancellation, where no alternative session is booked, then at my discretion a charge of 50% of the agreed fee will be applied. Where I have made the cancellation and if no alternative session can be arranged then I will refund you the money paid to secure the booking in full.

Confidentiality and Privacy: Rejig Organising is a professional service and adheres to the code of ethics as set out by the Association of Professional Declutterers & Organisers (APDO) and are registered with the Information Commissioners Office
(ICO).

We value your privacy and never divulge client information to third parties, nor any personal or business details that I may see in the course of my work (which, when decluttering, is generally unavoidable).

I may however mention your situation to others in the context of my own services, but it will be depersonalised and unidentifiable. I will take before and after photos and as part of this T&C as a matter of course but will not use them for marketing purposes unless agreed by yourself.

Payment Terms
1. Charges for my services will be levied per hour and full payment is required upon booking and before the session takes place. Payment can be done by cheque payable to Rejig Organising or by BACS transfer using the bank details as detailed on the invoice.
2. Travel charges are included in the fee for local bookings. Where bookings are farther afield this will be charged as 40p per mile by car. If travel time is in excess of 30mins each way, an additional charge may be made at £45 per hour. This will be made clear before the booking is accepted.
3. All charges shall be payable on invoice, as set down in item (1) above. Interest at 9% per month will be charged on any balance due which remains unpaid 45 days after invoice.

These terms & conditions are reviewed regularly and were last updated Sep 2019.
